And We're Off

Vanessa kindly offered to run us out to the airport, so I'd like to post a big THANK YOU. I've got my traveling shoe's on, my bag's packed, and I can't wait for a bloody mary at the airport. Sooo Excited to get on the road! Now for a 12 hour nap, dibs on the window seat.

Departure Day!

Last night was my Birthday/Bon Voyage Party and it was so much fun! Good friends, stories and wine is really all you need in life, but traveling sure is the icing on the cake. The final packing with a killer hangover isn't the most ideal way to begin 12 hours of travel, but a good cup of coffee and the Aleve I just popped should kick in soon.  Following my new year's plan of not going on a trip until I have booked my next, this morning  I booked a flight to Vegas for Halloween where I will be meeting up and spending some overdue time with friends from College.
As for this trip, I think I am good to go. I have my passport... (just went on a frantic rush to find my nemo that Mom gave me before semester at sea), and a sense of adventure. What else do you really need?

Packing

Just because I am going above and beyond the recommended three pairs of shoes to perhaps six pairs, does not mean I am over packing. What I did decide is to bring lots of solid colored cotton dress that will pack easily with minimal wrinkling and will provide an excellent base for the accessory purchases I plan to make.

T-Minus Five Days

We have begun laying out all of our clothes, and started the painful process of trying to decide what we can do without. I have been reading a lot about 1 bag travelers ala Rick Steves and am inspired to get as light as possible, however I still see myself checking a bag. Philly on the other hand is having considerably more trouble trying to decide between two bags for her shoes or three!!!
